HTML? CSS?
At first, looking at the tutorials for MDCM2002 brings me back some high school memories. I did computing studies at HS for 2 years and touched on this coding stuff, I tried to listen but in fact did not interest me at all……. not even for a tiny bit. But now I seem to forgot anything that I learnt back then, so it starts to confuse me once again. In class, I got kind of frustrated at looking at words and letters that means completely nothing to me so I asked Sharon as to why we are using smultron while there is a PERFECT and easy to use software like dreamweaver. Oh me…… always looking for a shortcut. But she explained that using smultron would actually teach us what these codes mean and we would know exactly what we are doing. If we were to use dreamweaver, like we would in the workplace, we start to take everything for granted and just drag and drop or choose from a menu on what we want to do. At the end, would we even know what we are telling the computer to do? and when we view the code, would we even understand what each line means? hmmm….. most probably not. So now I appreciate learning to code through smultron because then I would actually learn what each word means……. well im trying to appreciate anyways.
Anyways, so I kind of did my room background image, put it up and all……. now I just need to do the rollovers which im finding quite confusing but know I will get through it……
Check my not so interesting room ![]()
I also made a background for the index page we made first ![]()

The other thing to note is that as the web becomes more dynamic and is reliant on content management systems and complex server-side systems like PHP and AJAX (Asynchronous Javascript and XHTML) systems like dreamweaver are harder to use effectively….most of the time I find it quicker to work over a server and makes changes to the code directly. I really find Dreamweaver annoying – a lot of that comes form practice – but i’d rather spend that time practicing working on the code itself rather than a third party intermediary. The room looks great…will look forward to the roll overs.
Thanks for the feedback
